You are welcome to download Mayor Donut and use it on your desktop. Then you can hang your Shortcuts on the portable rendonhazir that guy is carrying, or on the post, or wherever! I think the Recycle wastebasket looks cool sitting on the edge of the "5," but, hey, on your computer you're the artist.
You Mac folks are on your own. I wouldn't know what instructions to give you. But if you are a PCperson running W95, you can right click on the image and select Set As Wallpaper. Go to your Desktop and the deed should be done.
Mayor Donut 640.gif will be saved as C:\Windows\Netscape Wallpaper.bmp. In this form it is a 601KB 24-bit Bitmap. To keep the file size low, I created Mayor Donut in Microsoft Paint, using the 16 colors supported for saving as a 16 Color Bitmap. This yieled a 151KB Bitmap. You can re-convert it to that form and size.
In Microsoft Paint, go to File > Open > C:Windows > Netscape Wallpaper.bmp. (In the Windows directory, you will find the Bitmaps after you scroll past a slew of folders.) Open the file. Then select File > Save As. From the Save as type drop-down menu select 16 Color Bitmap. You will be warned that the file already exists and asked: Replacing existing file? Select Yes. You could, of course, also save it into another directory of your choice and, at a later date, open it in Paint and Set As Wallpaper/Centered (under File menu).
