The Prayer for Economic Healing, as I understand the story, was written by members of a group who were meeting, under the auspicises of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, to study ways to apply spiritual principles in order to better their economic well-being. To put it simply: individual spiritual seekers, too often low on cash, got together to find out in what ways their lives might be out of whack with the Divine Plan.

The Association for Research and Enlightenment was established in 1931 as a non-profit educational organization, to preserve, study and present the clairvoyant readings of Edgar Cayce. It continues today to research and disseminate information on ESP, dreams, holistic health, meditation, and life after death.
